![]() I remember during my earlier journeys to India which were about visiting the family rather than travelling and sightseeing, although we still did that with the family and relatives. In our village my grandmother would have these copper vessels and have water stored in them. At the time I thought it was a village thing because glass would break very quickly and these vessels looked like they would last a lifetime. However, I began to notice more and more copper items in relation to pujas, as water would still be in a copper vessel even in the UK. Then I thought it was an Indian thing as most Indian families had some type of copper pot. I guess it's not until the recent years it came more and more into my awareness and it was Sadhguru who really put it into perspective who said "If you keep water in a copper vessel, preferably overnight or at least for four hours, the water acauires a certain quality from the copper which is very good for your liver in particular and your health and energy in general" I subsequently met Yogi Ashokananda who advised me to keep a copper bottle so that I will ensure regular intake of water and I have to admit that I do feel a lot better for it. After this experience, I also realised that a lot of containers called 'Sarovar' kept by Temples were copper. The realisation that actually my nickname all my life that was derived from Sarovar, and all this realisation has only just started to come together. Recent research around water in copper is suggesting many types of health benefits and I guess really it's for the individual to experiment how they can benefit.
